What exactly Voodoo?
Voodoo is a traditional religion that was born in the to the west provinces of the Mommy Continent, Africa. Voodoo became widely recognized as a result of well known African servant trades that occured many many years before.
The correct spelling vodou designed for voodoo is actually Vodou. Vodou was born within west Africa and during the importation involving slaves it provided birth to Dominican Vodou, Haitian Vodou and Louisiana Voodoo.
Dominican Vodou as I call it : is basically Haitian Vodou, only, practiced inside the Dominican Republic. That difference is not awesome. We use the vast majority of same Loas, and many of the same ceremonies, only with a "twist". Obviously, one serious difference in practice may be the language. Although, the Loas when "mounted on a horse's head", regardless if the indy speaks Kréyol or even not, the Loa in the "head" definitely will speak certain key phrases in Haitian Kréyol. Another language discussed by some Loas (especially Anaisa Pyé), is French. Still once again, the same whatever the horse's first Vodou Ayisyen words, the Loa within head will speak out it.
Contrary to popular belief, prefer Haitian Voodun, students of Dominican Vodun believe in one main God, the Creator, Papa Bon Dyé (the good God) as although in physical form absent from the Our planet, he is still fantastic to us all. Within Haiti He as well goes by Gran Accomplished (the Great Master).
Very rarely can one go to a gathering of the spirits and not just hear the Loas and all those found mention this identify. As, when vodou Haitian such Loas enter a lot of say: Bonswa your la societé! Gracia a la Mesericordia de Papa Bon Dyé y Las 21 Divisiones!. Interpretation "Hello (good evening) to all (the society)! Thanks to the Merci of The Good Our god and the 21 Sections! Bonswa a la societé is the overall greeting given to by these Loas once they arive. They claim: "Bonswa a la societé! ", many respond: "Bonswa! inch. Once these Loas arrive, they ask for there things (fula, drinks, cigars, along with what ever else some want to wear in order to use), these things are given to the Loas simply by La Place, this can be a person responsible for giving them all of the above.
